Short biography

Maddalena is a Clinical Researcher of the infectious diseases section at Verona University. She completed her residency in Infectious Diseases in 2016 and her PhD Program of Applied Life and Health Sciences, Infectious Diseases curriculum, in 2020.

Dr Cordioli’s research is focused on HIV and other STIs in terms of prevention strategies, validation of new rapid diagnostic tools for HIV/STIs, with a particular interest on their use among key and vulnerable populations and STIs treatment. Since 2016 she is a member of the WHO core team in the context of the “ProSPeRo” initiative (Project on Sexually transmitted infections Point-of-care testing Established by the Reproductive health and research department of the WHO - https://www.who.int/reproductivehealth/topics/rtis/pocts/en/). In addition, at local level, she has been the one in charge for the implementation at local level of the clinical-based evaluation POCT protocols among MSM and in the coordination of the two STIs screening facilities involved in the study during the piloting phase of the study.
