Description

Title: SARS-CoV-2 Sentinel Surveillance in Verona

Primary Objective: To identify the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in sentinel populations in order to implement specific control measures to prevent further transmission of the virus in Verona.

Secondary Objectives:

  • to early identify SARS-CoV-2 positive subjects (including asymptomatic ones) and perform contact tracing in collaboration with the regional Public Health Service (SISP - Servizio di Igiene e Sanità Pubblica);

  • to define the characteristics and temporal trend of cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection;

  • to offer to the subjects who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 a dedicated diagnostic-therapeutic path;

  • to promote health (including vaccinations and structured psychological support) for the target categories/populations.

Recent Updates:

The Sentinella team, since June 2022, have been investigating the psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in at risk populations within the Verona community. The data are derived from structured questionaries in three intervals throughout a 9 month period.

The following questionaries were used :

  • Center for Epidemiologic Studies depression scale (CES-D)

  • Generalized anxiety scale (GAD-7)

  • UCLA- Loneliness scale-short version

  • Perceived stress scale

  • Resilience scale (BRS)

  • Big Five Inventory (BFI-10)
