The project proposal SARS-coV2 Variants Evaluation in pRegnancy and paeDIatrics cohorts (VERDI), led by PENTA and involving 23 partners from 13 countries has been recommended for funding by the European Commission, scoring the maximum number of points.
The main objectives of the project are to track and characterise Variants of Concern (VoC) in paediatric and pregnant populations across the globe, understand the effects of VoC on clinical outcomes, vaccine effectiveness and transmission.
By creating evidence-based recommendations in a range of global settings, VERDI aims to gain new knowledge and better awareness for the optimal management of COVID-19 as well as for a sound response to future health emergencies.
As one of the partners, the University of Verona and the ID-CARE team are looking forward to collaborating and contributing to the VERDI project.
