Outpatient clinic for long-COVID follow-up launched in Verona

On the 24th of May 2021, a new outpatient clinic dedicated to the follow-up of patients after a SARS-CoV-2 infection has been launched within the Verona University Hospital, ‘Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata di Verona’. The multidisciplinary team, composed of infectious disease specialists, pneumologists, neurologists, internal medicine specialists, microbiologists and psychologists, works together to create a tailored program with clinical checks at 3, 6, 12 and 18 months from the infection.

The research project is financed by Horizon2020 project ORCHESTRA and aims at creating a model to manage COVID-19 disease and avoid unwanted long-term health complications. Additionally, this study monitors the duration of naturally acquired and post-vaccination immunity to evaluate the need for a third dose of the vaccination in the fragile population.
