This operational research project aims to investigate the level of stigma and discrimination perceived, observed and/or experienced by three target populations, and to investigate the impact of HIV disclosure on adherence to antiretroviral treatment (ART) among people living with HIV.
Adapted questionnaires have been distributed in different contexts to reach people living with HIV, healthcare and community workers, and the community at large, including students.
So far, over 1000 questionnaires have been collected by the ID-CARE team in collaboration with the Kenyan partners in Machakos and questionnaires are now being distributed in local secondary schools.
We would like to thank the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation (AICS) for funding this project, and all the participants and colleagues involved in this exciting study. We are proud to be working towards a world free of HIV stigma!
