Italy ranks high in terms of prevalence of multidrug resistant germs among European countries. On the ‘European Antibiotic Awareness Day’, 18th of November 2021, AIFA marks the occasion by publishing the news on the launch of AIFA-OPERA, a task force specialized in optimising antibiotic therapy to preserve their efficacy and prevent the onset of unwanted antibiotic resistant infections.
Prof. Evelina Tacconelli, leader of the ID-CARE team at University of Verona, coordinates the task force composed of leading Italian experts in the field of antibiotic resistance.
